What is it?

Waynesville Kids is the Children’s Ministry of Waynesville UMC. We offer Sunday School during Sunday morning services for students K – 6th grade, a nursery for kids 0-2 years old, and a toddler room for kids 2-4 years old. Our mission is to help children glorify God and grow to their full potential in Christ by partnering with parents and families in knowing, developing, and serving.

How does it work?

Waynesville Kids takes the approach that the 40 hours every year that kids are in church are not enough to effectively teach them the Word of God. This means that every Sunday that students are here, we don’t only teach them a lesson, but we send them home with resources for their families to further that lesson throughout the week. By resourcing parents/guardians we show our students that living a life for Jesus is more than just Sunday mornings, but something that we do every day and envelopes are entire lives and everything we do.

Curriculum

252 Basics is a Children’s curriculum that has been written and developed by The reThink Group and its basic message is this: The story of God reveals the character of God. That’s why 252 Basics is organized around key Bible stories that help kids discover Jesus and reflect His character to the world around them.
