What is W I N?
W I N is an exchange service developed to get household items and services from donors to people in need within the Waynesville community, free of charge. Items are kept/stored by the donors until items are matched with someone who needs them.
Who can participate?
ANYONE can participate. We will maintain a list of items/services available and a list of items/services needed.
Are my donations tax-deductible?
YES. W I N is a ministry of the Waynesville United Methodist Church, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. Donation receipts are available and provided upon request.
What sort of donated items are allowed?
All donated items MUST be clean, very gently-used and in working condition. Appliances or large-ticket items donated in need of repair need to include detailed information about what needs to be done and a firm cost-to-repair estimate. Examples include furniture, clothing, linens, house wares, infant/toddler necessities, toys, lawn/garden, automotive, tools/building supplies, services (yard work, painting, etc.)
How do items get from donors to those who need them?
We maintain a confidential list of items available and items needed. When a match is made, donors will be given directions for delivery of items to those who need them or items may be delivered to a designated location for pick up.
