FESTIVAL OF SHARING
We still need more items to complete our kits. We will be putting these together in a couple of weeks. Please pick up a list of supplies we are collecting for the Festival of Sharing. These are located in the Welcome Center.
Contributions to UMCOR Kansas Hurricane Relief
If you would like to make donations to help Kansas Hurricane Relief, you may do so through our church. On donation make note that it is for 'UMCOR ADVANCE # 901680'. We have helped in the past with Florida relief by sending kits and flood buckets. We can still make a difference this way. For more information please contact Alice Spitznogle.
Waynesville United Methodist Women
The UMW has had three money making projects in the past. These projects raise money for the pledge to the Ohio River Valley UMW. As the church itself has an apportionment that is contributed to the ORV District, likewise to women have a monetary pledge.
The three money making projects were: Rummage Sale, Sauerkraut Festival, and the Fireman’s Dinner. This past year the Mission Team chaired the Fireman’s Dinner. The receipts from this event has been given to the Vrettos / Barton Mission Fund. The remaining two projects will fund the UMW pledge, youth church camp, and monetary donations to various organizations, such as the Abuse Shelter and the local Food Pantry.
The date of the 2009 Rummage Sale will be announced later this year. There will be a need for a chairman of this event. We will provide the guidelines, suggestions, timelines, and the supplies needed for this function. Please think about this endeavor.
